Dovetail’s Charity Challenge

Julia's House £50 challenge

The Julia’s House £50 Challenge is on!

The Dovetail Team have some very exciting news to share with you all. This year we are going to be supporting Julia’s House and we are taking part in their £50 challenge!

In case you are not familiar with it, the £50 challenge is where we receive £50 from Julia’s House and our challenge is to use it to raise as much money as possible from March to the end of June. (Read more here: https://www.juliashouse.org/get-involved/campaigns/50poundchallenge)

Who are Julia’s House?

Julia’s House is a Children’s Hospice in Dorset and Wiltshire providing comfort, care and support to families across these counties. They support children with serious medical conditions, and provide practical and emotional support either in their own homes, the community or at their hospices.

Why did we choose them?

When deciding on who we wanted to support, it was important to us that the chosen charity was one that was local to ensure that Dovetail were giving something back to our local community.  Our close team of 7 has a total of 8, soon to be 9, children between all of us. We are lucky enough to say they are all healthy and happy. Julia’s House is a cause close to our hearts as they make such a big differences to not only the children, but the families of those children. So with all that considered, it was a bit of a no brainer!

What will we be doing?

The team have a few ideas at the moment, and some we have already started with!

Laura – I’ll be using my new found love of swimming to swim 50 miles between March and the end of June. To put that into perspective for you all, that’s 80,467 meters which is 3,219 lengths of the Littledown 25m poole. Not that I’ve done the maths or anything….!

Suzi – I’ll be hosting a Bingo night in my local village of Witchampton. It’s great fun and all the locals get involved. All donations will contribute to our £50 challenge. :0)

Fran, Samantha & Amy – We will definitely be doing a bake sale, probably outside the office when the weather is a little warmer. Tea and cake will be provided and it would be lovely to see as many people as possible.

These are just a few of the many ideas we have floating around the office at the moment. So stay tuned here on our blog, LinkedIn and social media pages to see what we get up to and how we get on with the Julia’s House £50 Challenge!
