Stronger Growth of Staff Placements in February
The Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) and KPMG Report on Jobs have published a new report showing the results of the UK labour market from February 2015.
The report has found that permanent staff placements continued to rise in February; the rate of growth in appointments was marked as the fastest since last October. Growth was also seen in the number of vacancies available to candidates. Overall demand for staff rose at the strongest rate in four months.
Along with these growths, it was found that starting salaries also increased in February; however, the availability of candidates decreased further from January in February.
There is a huge talent shortage that recruiters across the country are experiencing. Candidates are finding there are more jobs available, more companies looking for the skills they possess and companies desperate to hold on to their staff so are offering competitive counteroffers and pay rises.
