Christmas is always a very special time to spend with the family getting all festive! There are plenty of events and activities happening locally for you to all enjoy. From Christmas light switch ons, to fun-packed festive days out. So read on for our Christmas family events in Dorset!

Bournemouth Christmas Tree Wonderland and Ice Rink
Friday 18^th November 2022 – Monday 2^nd January 2023

The Bournemouth Christmas lights are in the Lower Gardens with over 100 glittering trees and illuminations to enjoy. At the heart of the trail is the Bournemouth Wonderland Christmas Tree. There is also the outdoor ice rink, music, and entertainment, as well as the Alpine Lodge Bar and Christmas Market complete with mulled wine for the grown ups, and hot chocolates for the little ones.

Christmas at Kingston Lacy
Friday 2^nd December to Saturday 24^th December
from 4.30 pm to dark.

Enjoy the sparkling tunnels of light at Kingston Lacy, and walk under baubles and beneath trees in amazing colours and twinkling lights. Their fabulously decorated house will showcase Christmas traditions from around the world!

Christmas at Farmer Palmers
December 2022

Children can enjoy a farm-tastic day out at the Farm Park and experience the wonder and excitement of meeting ‘the man in red’ and all his festive friends in the Magical Christmas Barn, PLUS every child with a ‘Farmer Christmas Experience Ticket’ receives a great gift from the Elves at Ye Olde Toy Shoppe! There will be lots of other festivities happening at Farmer Palmers over the Christmas period, including meeting Father Farmer Christmas. A perfect day out for the family to enjoy.

Upton Country Park Christmas Woodland Adventure
Saturday 17^th December – Sunday 1st January

Visit Upton Country Park this festive season to help find out where all the woodland animals have gone! The trail will take you through a winter wandering to discover festive scenes and listen for musical moments amongst the trees. Fun for young and old!

Steam And Lights at Swanage Steam Railway
Sunday 3^rd December and Friday 23rd December

The steam locomotive and carriages will be covered with brightly coloured lights while the cosy steam-heated carriage interiors will be festively decorated for the one-hour evening round trip passing the historic ruins of Corfe Castle. On board the train, there will be festive music synchronised to the lighting displays passing the carriage windows as well as an informative on-train commentary.

Great Reindeer Hunt at The Teddy Bear Museum, Dorchester
Friday 18^th November to Wednesday 4th January
