Availability of Permanent Candidates Falls at Sharpest Rate since November 1997
June 20, 2014
A recently published report has found that the number of permanent placements and temporary staff being hired is continuing to rise despite the sharp decline of available candidates – the steepest decline in 16 and a half years! However, a strong rise has been seen in both permanent and temp salaries.
The rate of growth in permanent salaries remained considerable in the same month yet temporary and contract hourly rates rose at the fastest pace since 2007.
Although the number of candidates has declined, the demand for staff has continued to increase – with the private sector looking for more permanent staff than the public sector.
