Part-Time Jobs on the Rise as Recruiters Remain Cautious
August 15, 2014
There has been a significant increase in the past year in the number of part time roles available in the UK due to employers maintaining a cautious approach to staffing. They are maintaining flexibility while still focussing on job creation.
Over the last year, a 44% increase has been seen in part time vacancies from the same point in 2013. This increase was mainly seen within three particular sectors – the largest rise was seen within the manufacturing industry with a 163% year on year increase, followed by retail and construction and property, which saw rises of 120% and 103%.
