Product Administrator Job in Lymington | FMCG Product Administrator
Salary: £27,000 – £30,000 per annum
Location: Lymington, Hampshire
Working Pattern: Monday – Friday | Office Based
Dovetail Recruitment are recruiting for a Product Administrator to join a growing FMCG business based in Lymington, Hampshire. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with administration experience in product, supply chain, quality, or sales support who is looking to develop a career within the FMCG and product development sector.
As a Product Administrator, you will support the Quality Product Manager in ensuring products are delivered to the required quality standards. The role involves coordinating product specifications, sampling processes, supplier communication, and quality inspections.
This position offers valuable exposure to the product lifecycle within FMCG, including health and beauty products.
Product Administrator Responsibilities:
Product Specifications and Documentation

Support the creation and maintenance of product specifications and product documentation

Ensure product details are clearly communicated to suppliers and manufacturers

Assist with maintaining FMCG compliance and product labelling requirements

Organise product documentation and maintain accurate records
Product Sampling and Development

Coordinate the product sampling process from pre-production to final approval
-
Track sample timelines and liaise with suppliers to ensure samples arrive on time

Support sample reviews and highlight discrepancies against specifications

Maintain organised reference samples for internal use
Product Quality and Inspections

Support the coordination of third-party product inspections

Prepare inspection packs and documentation

Assist with compiling internal quality reports, inspection outcomes, and defect trends
Supplier Communication and Order Tracking

Communicate with suppliers and factories via email and video calls

Track orders through key stages including sampling, production, inspection, and shipping

Help identify potential risks and delays in the product supply chain
Product Administrator Skills and Experience Required:

Previous experience in an administrative role within product, supply chain, quality, or sales support

Strong attention to detail and organisational skills

Experience working with product specifications or product documentation is advantageous

Confident communicating with suppliers and internal teams

Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Outlook

A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
