FMCG Auditor Vacancy

Location: UK, remote with extensive travel

Our client is a unique business within the FMCG industry who cover not just food manufacturing, but also hardline and textile products, partnering with major retailers to deliver both private label and branded products into the stores you visit every week. If you’re looking for a new Auditor position in the FMCG industry, this role will give you exposure to a wide array of product categories.

The FMCG Auditor role:
You’ll be taking manufacturing partners on a journey, onboarding new suppliers — carrying out gap analysis and risk assessments, creating non-conformity reports and getting them up to speed to bring them in line with UK manufacturing regulations. EU suppliers aren’t often used to the UK ways of working or our regulations, so it’s going to take someone with great relationship building skills and confidence to create those long-term partnerships.

You’ll be giving suppliers confidence by doing regular maintenance audits with them, so that when the retailer audit comes along, they feel confident and supported. You’ll also be looking at ethical and customer codes of practice and getting manufacturing partners up to speed across compliance expectations.

Key responsibilities of the Auditor:

  • Compliance supporting to buying team during new manufacturing site sourcing, agree timeline and onboard new manufacturing sites Manage internal and external audit schedules to maintain high compliance standards.
  • Manage non-conformances corrective action plan and complete within timeline.
  • Drive technical and ethical compliance level improvement with manufacturing site.
  • Communicate with customers to solve audit issues and accompany customers to visit manufacturing sites where necessary.
  • Accountability for the internal audit programme, site spot checks and due diligence.

Key requirements:

  • Able to travel extensively with at least one week away from home per month, and the ability to travel at short notice.
  • Previous experience as an Auditor or similar with the FMCG industry
  • Experience with UK food manufacturing and UK retailer codes of practice.
  • Experience working with one of the UK top retailers.
  • Excellent relationship building skills
  • Lead auditor training – highly desired, but we won’t rule you out if you’re the right person.
  • Food Safety Level 3 qualification.

The FMCG Auditor vacancy would suit candidates who have experience as a Lead Auditor, Compliance Manager, Internal Auditor or retail Auditor who have food industry experience.
