About the role

Are you looking for something where you can carve out your own role, but are given the structure, and goals to work towards so you know what’s expected?

We are looking for a driven sales person who thrives in ‘quick win’ environments while also enjoying using strategy to focus on what needs selling, and what alternatives can be used for unavailable products. It’s not just a ‘sell sell sell’ role. It’s using your knowledge of stock, and industry products to reduce waste and maximise revenue, and your own commission.

The role will focus on a few existing clients who have potential to grow, but the main focus on the role will be opening up new opportunities across distribution, retail, wholesale or foodservice sectors. It’s yours to build how you like.

And once you’re settled, you have the budget to build your team, motivate and mentor them, shaping the department as you want to.

This business has a huge range of products and covers a variety of sectors. Their capabilities are almost limitless, so there’s huge potential here for success.

Key responsibilities

  • Gain new business within wholes, foodservice, distribution or retail channels
  • Maximise revenue in existing accounts
  • Negotiate on pricing while working closely with the finance team to ensure margins are where they need to be
  • Identify slow moving stock, and focus on increasing sales while cross-selling and up-selling
  • Build and monitor your sales pipeline, analysing data and forecasting
  • Lead, coach and expand the team of 2 Sales Executives
  • Work closely with the supply chain and operations teams to ensure deadlines are met for customers, and customers are given exceptional service to ensure repeat business

Within the first 12 months you will have:

  • Built a motivated, engaged and high-performing sales team
  • Consistently delivered or exceeded monthly sales targets
  • Increased incremental revenue across existing customers
  • Successfully acquired new B2B accounts
  • Improved sales forecasting accuracy and CRM discipline
  • Enhanced customer retention and satisfaction
  • Contributed significantly to the company’s commercial growth strategy

What’s on offer

  • Base salary
  • Bonus
  • Commission
  • Car Allowance
  • Annual salary reviews
  • 25 days holiday per annum, increasing to 27 days after 3 years’ service and 30 days after 5 years’ service
  • Able to buy additional holiday
  • Medical cash plan and access to mental health support
  • Flexible hours and work from home available to all staff with an office presence ideally once a week
  • Great learning and development and progression opportunities
  • Yearly bonus structure (based on company targets)
  • Enhanced Maternity and Paternity Leave
  • Generous Company Sick Pay
  • Pension Scheme Contribution
  • Social events run by our inhouse Social Team
  • Cycle to Work scheme

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience managing a small team
  • Product sales experience
